WORKSHOP

The workshop is intended to review the project ongoing activities and research results on distribution and recent invasions of freshwater bivalve molluscs from genus Dreissena in Bulgarian, Macedonian and Austrian lakes, as well as in the Lower Danube. Discussions within different work packages will focus on harmonization of methods and analyses of existing and new data which can further contribute to the development of effective control and management strategies at national and regional levels. The project objectives and preliminary results will be presented at an open session. The project participants will have the opportunity to visit the Iskar Reservoir used for drinking water supply for Sofia city, which is potentially threatened by zebra mussel invasion.
The working language of the workshop will be English.
